Special Needs

Family Support
We believe every child is a gift from God made in His image and reflecting His dignity.  We also consider
those caring for children with special needs worthy of special honor and support.  To become intentional
about your unique situation, we encourage you to reflect on your blessing, your call and your challenge.
With this in mind we realize that many parents have to advocate for their children Monday thru Friday.  We
don’t want that to be the case on Sundays so we have the following resources available for you.

Buddy Program
We have a team of trained volunteers who are ready to provide one-on-one support to students who may
benefit from some assistance in the worship service or the classroom; students who may be going through
family changes, have special needs, or who are experiencing other life transitions.

Community Connections
JoniandFriends.org is a good starting point if you want to investigate resources available for your child’s
specific needs.

NeedProject.org is a developing site with a blog, podcast and a growing resource bank by and for parents
of special needs children.

Raisingspecialkids.org
The mission of Raising Special Kids is to improve the lives of children with disabilities by providing families with parent-to-parent support, training, information, and individual assistance.  Programs and services are offered free of charge, in English and Spanish, without regard to the child’s disability, age, family income, qualifying conditions or other eligibility factors.
